Setup

Two verticals on a bending five-stride line, 64 feet apart.

Step-by-step
  1. 01Ride a 20m circle approaching the line to set rhythm.
  2. 02After fence 1, open the inside rein and add forward leg.
  3. 03Count the rhythm out loud: '1-2-3-4-5.'
  4. 04Repeat in four-stride form, then back to five.
Common mistakes
  • Pulling on the outside rein into the turn.
  • Adding hand instead of leg.
  • Letting the canter shrink before fence 2.
Success looks like
